Happy Tree Friends are cute, cuddly and horribly wrong! Starring a host of adorable animated forest animals that face eye-popping calamities at every turn, Happy Tree Friends has become an international online, DVD, mobile and television hit.

 

Originating as a series of shorts on the Internet in 2000, Happy Tree Friends has released five DVD titles to-date, has aired on MTV International and MTV 2 reaching over 120 million homes and currently airs on G4 videogame tv, a Comcast-owned channel with a household reach of 50 million. Home video shipments are over 500,000 units and online show views top 15 million each month.

 

Happy Tree Friends launched its first DVD title, “First Blood” in August 2002. Proving an immediate online hit, the DVD hit retail in February 2003. From there, Mondo Media released the follow-up title “Second Serving” in September 2003, “Third Strike” the following year, and the “Overkill” box set and “Winter Break” holiday DVD in the fall of 2005.

 

The merchandising program around Happy Tree Friends debuted in October 2003 at the well-known youth-oriented retailer, Hot Topic – named Retailer of the Year in 2004. The program initially launched with apparel, plush and point-of-sale items such as stickers, patches and keychains. Since that time, Mondo Media has singed over 25 licensees worldwide and is represented by licensing agents in North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Australia/New Zealand.

 

Our Happy Tree Friends mobile program has proven extremely successful in Europe, where the “Spin Fun” java game was rated #4 in Europe in August 2005. We work with multiple partners worldwide for ring tones, wallpapers, video clips, java games and more. We plan to expand this program throughout 2006 in North America.

 

Currently, Mondo Media is in production with 13 half-hour episodes that will air as a global television series starting September 2006. Included in this production are five themed half-hour specials around Holiday, Valentine’s Day, Out of School, Back to School and Halloween.
